An Afternoon with Jeannie Baker

Updated 10:13 PM 23/08/2010
|
|
|
Get excited! Teachers and librarians are invited to come along for an afternoon with talented author/ artist Jeannie Baker who will be discussing her amazing new book Mirror. Come along for a glass of champagne, an interview and signing!
Two diverse cultures, countries and families are linked with warmth and charm in this two-in-one picture book.
This innovative picture book comprises two stories designed to be read simultaneously – one from the left, the other from the right. Page by page, we experience a day in the lives of two boys and their families. An Australian family, whose way of life strikes a familiar chord, and a family from a far away country with a way of life that differs more than one can imagine. As we read we discover the simple truth that despite these differences we are all the same. We are the mirror of each other.

John Morrison's Harry Readford's Outback Book Launch & Signing
Don't miss your chance to meet John Morrison, author and artist of the exquisite leather-bound art book Harry Readford's Outback at a special book launch and signing on Saturday 9 October, 10am at Chapters of Roma!
This limited edition publication chronicles the life and times of legendary cattle duffer and bushman, Harry Readford, through John's breathtaking watercolour paintings and extensive research into Readford's life.
There are only 1,000 copies of the leather-bound art book being created. They are produced to order and each is being signed and numbered by the author and artist, John Morrison.
As an integral part of the purchase of a copy of the limited edition Harry Readford's Outback, each owner is entitled to receive one canvas or art paper print of their choosing from those in the book. The prints on canvas are unmounted and will be mailed to the owner, in a protective tube.
This art on canvas print is produced using UV-resistant inks, so it is suitable for mounting and placement in locations with high exposure to daylight and will last for many, many years without fading. For greater protection, we recommend professional mounting followed by an application of a protective spray-on clear UV coating.
Other prints on canvas may be ordered from the collection and all will be signed and numbered by John Morrison. A full list of the images available will be posted on the website:
www.harryreadford.com.au
. Book owners may also request a proof sheet leaflet by e-mail, from the site.
As part of your purchase, you may also request a title leaf at the opening of the book which identifies you as the original owner of this art book. Please indicate on the bottom of the order form if you would like to utilise this option.
Orders are being taken now for this very special
book. Please click here to download your order form. Alternatively, please contact us at Chapters of Roma on (07) 46 227 222 and we will post one out to you.
We anticipate that there will be high demand for this special opportunity so don't delay in ordering your copy!
